Co-operatives Fortnight

All over the UK, people will be coming together to celebrate the co-operative movement between June 19th and July 3rd.  Co-operatives come in all shapes and sizes, from local pubs that have been re-opened by teams of community members, to housing associations run by their tenants, to factories bought out by the people who work in them.

As the recession bites, working together is likely to become more widespread than ever, as people join up to overcome the economic difficulties.  This is particularly true for credit unions, which are seen as an invaluable tool in protecting people from the effects of the recession, both at local and national government level.

Perth and Kinross Credit Union Project will be taking up the opportunity to shout about the achievements of the co-operative movement and the difference a credit union could make for Perth and Kinross.  If you have any suggestions as to how we should celebrate Co-operatives Fortnight, please use the contact form to submit them.
